FAQ's

Does Dr Bliss accept insurance?

Texas Well Woman is a cash-based practice. We do not accept insurance assignments for our medical visits or therapies offered in our office. We are not contracted with any insurance agencies. We will supply patients with an itemized receipt with accepted insurance codes for them to submit to their commercial insurance.  Medicare and Medicaid do not allow these reimbursements. We make no guarantees of coverage for any services offered by our practice and do not provide any support for insurance filing. Some patients report a partial reimbursement and others do not receive reimbursement.

What is your policy on cancellations or no-shows?

Texas Well Woman has a 24-hour cancellation policy.  Cancelling within 24 hours will result in being charged for the entire appointment fee.

 

We generally are able to accommodate late arrivals to your visit, though we cannot always extend your visit accordingly.   Please always try to come in a few minutes early to make sure you get the most out of your visit. 

Also, we will always do our best to let you know if we are running behind, and we appreciate you for working with us to help our office run as smoothly as possible.

What do I do if I need after hours care or have an emergency?

For after-hours illness, please go to urgent care or ER.  For non-urgent issues, please send Dr Bliss a message through your patient portal and she will respond as soon as possible.  You can also text the main office number if you are a patient 830-262-2022;

How much do I expect to pay to see Dr. Bliss? 

We are a cash pay practice. We do not accept insurance.  Most medical cost-sharing ministries will pay for visits with cash pay practices.  Do not hesitate to ask for more information about Medical Cost Sharing Ministries before your visit with Dr Bliss.   We also offer Care Credit.

 

Any "New Problem" visit is $500.  Follow-up visits for issues already addressed are $300.  You can use these visits to discuss any of your needs, including a Well Woman Visit.   These visits fees do not include labs, imaging, or procedures, they are priced separately and will be discussed with you prior to performing. 

Does Dr. Bliss take Medicare?

Bliss does not contract with any insurance carriers or Medicare.   Medicare patients can see her under private contract; however, Medicare will not reimburse for these visits and visits cannot be submitted to Medicare for reimbursement.

Can I use my HSA card?

Yes

 

What age of range does she care for?

Dr Bliss takes care of women from the time they start their menstrual cycle through the remainder of their life. She will only be offering gynecologic care. While Dr Bliss no longer offers obstetric or pregnancy care, she does offer keep-sake ultrasound packages for pregnant women.

How do I access my patient portal?

When you schedule your first visit, we will email you can invite link to log into your patient portal. Unfortunately, our portal is only accessible with iphone users.  We are expecting access for Android users very soon.

What can I do from my patient portal? 

Your patient portal is the best way to communicate with Dr Bliss.   All of our conversations will be saved to your portal for your reference. From your portal you can request appointments, get medication refills, ask any questions pertaining to your medical care, and even sign and complete forms.

Does Dr. Bliss provide OB care?  

Dr Bliss does not provide Obstetric Care. If a patient comes in believing she is pregnant we can perform a pregnancy test along with a confirmation ultrasound, but she will not be their established provider.  We will give you a list of Obstetric Providers to establish care with. Any Elective Pregnancy Ultrasound images/videos performed are purely for "Keepsake" purposes.
